SaFE H2D: Safe, Fast and Efficient Hydrogen refuelling for Heavy-Duty Vehicles

SAFEH2D

Project data

The project analyzes and identifies the parameters involved in the H2 refueling process of heavy-duty vehicles, in order to create a virtual HRS (thanks to numerical models and CAD). Through a sensitivity analysis it will be possible to:

  • determine the best values of the parameters to be controlled
  • size and analyze the performance of the relative structure for each specific case study (different vehicles)
  • evaluate the correct dimensions of the HRS
  • reduce energy consumption

This will result in a generalized criterion independent of the type of vehicle treated. An integrated virtual system between HRS and heavy vehicles will therefore be created.

Finally, since the legislation is currently lacking in terms of H2 refueling in the heavy vehicle sector, specific guidelines will be developed.

The verification process of the results obtained will take place using indicators of the expected results, detailed in terms of quantitative objectives achieved
