The lab is equipped for the synthesis and characterization of innovative materials for thermal energy storage, conversion and utilization, such as zeotypes, silica gels, salt hydrates, composites “salt in porous matrix”. The equipment for characterization includes a DSC-1 Mettler Toledo, TG/DSC Setaram Labsys-Evo modified for operating under saturated water vapour,  DVS Vacuum, Netszch STA 449 F3 Jupiter.
