The lab is devoted to the characterization of prototypes and commercial devices for thermal energy storage and conversion. It consists of a testing rig able to provide 3 levels of thermal energy: up to 95°C with power up to 40 kW; from 20 to 45°C with power up to 40 kW; from -10 to 20°C with power up to 13 kW. All the hydraulic loops are connected to intermediate tanks and variable speed pumps. It is possible to carry out tests on advanced control systems, such as MPC.

The lab also hosts a testing rig for testing of sorption and hybrid dehumidification systems for residential and industrial applications (deep dehumidification).
