RESEARCh ACTIVITIES
The research activity is focused on the development of energy technologies with low environmental impact enabling the energy and ecological transition according to approaches inspired by Life Cycle Thinking and the concept of sustainable-by-design, contributing to the targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The activity is focused on the following research areas: Development and characterization of FC, Batteries and hybrid systems; Development of electro-chemical systems for the interface between different energy networks (sector coupling); Development of low-cost batteries with reduced environmental impact and reduced use of Critical Raw Materials); Sustainability analysis and support for early design/Sustainable-by-design; Energy technologies and innovative energy processes enabling Smart Building.
