RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
The research activity carried out by Dr. Brancato at the ITAE institute concerns technologies for the transformation and accumulation of thermal energy from renewables. Dr. Brancato is involved in research activities which concern the development of heating and cooling technologies powered by renewable sources: solar thermal, low enthalpy geothermal energy as well as waste heat at low temperatures. Thanks to her training, the degree in Materials Engineering, the doctor works on the synthesis, development and characterization of advanced materials for thermal energy transformation and accumulation, in variuos sectors from naval to industrial and civil, and in particular in this last area she studies materials for energy saving in construction. Dr. Brancato has published more than 40 scientific papers, including papers in ISI journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. She is the scientific manager for ITAE of two scientific projects, one European and the other national, for which she is also coordinator. And finally, she collaborates in other European, bilateral and national projects within her research topic.
