The laboratory is equipped with plants for the characterisation of key systems components for Adsorbtion heat pumps, such as heat exchangers, the abdsorber and the evaporator, as well as reactors with phase change materials for the energy storage.
This plant is used to measure the adsorption dynamic efficiency under real operating conditions through the “gravimetric Large Temperature Jump Method”.
Test station with Adsorption heat pumps utilising a single adsorbent bed to measure the specific power of the adsorbers up to 1kWf.
This plant is used to evaluate the evaporators’ efficiency under an Adsorption heat pump’s real operating conditions.
Test station to measure the thermal energy storage density of reactors with phase change materials up to 15 kWth capacity.
