Simulation of thermal energy systems

simulazione

Simulation activity of thermal energy systems addresses different goals:

  • Support to the design of prototypes and pre-commercial systems
  • Design optimization
  • Techno-economic analysis
  • System evaluation

Modelling and simulation cover different levels and fields of application:

  • Thermodynamic evaluation of materials/working pairs performance
  • Numerical simulation of components for thermal energy systems (such as adsorbers, heat exchangers, evaporators)
  • Dynamic simulation of systems, using a phenomenological approach;
  • Dynamic simulation of systems, using black-box or grey-box approaches.

Available software includes:

  • Autocad, Solidworks
  • Google Sketchup
  • Matlab/Simulink
  • COMSOL Multiphysics
  • Dymola
  • TIL Suite
  • TRNSYS
