THEMATIC AREAS SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE PRODUCTION AND ACCUMULATION OF ELECTRIC ENERGY/Fuel Cells (Materials, components, prototypes) WORK EXPERIENCE The research activity concerned materials and processes for energy technologies, at the CNR-ITAE in Messina. From 1980 to 1986, thesis student of the degree course in Industrial Chemistry and of the School of Specialization in Chemistry and Technology of Catalysis. From 1986 to 1987 CNR scholarship holder. From 1988 to 2001, Researcher – Level III, from 2001 to 2009, Senior Researcher – Level II, from 2010 to today, Research Manager – Level I. RESEARCH ACTIVITY The scientific activity was focused on systems for the direct production of electricity based on fuel cells, aimed at the development and characterization of components (gas diffusion electrodes, membranes, membrane/electrodes assemblies) and the realization of small size PEFC stacks and systems, coordinating related activities. Responsible for over 25 national, European and private research contracts. From 1993 to 2013 responsible for the research topic “Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Storage”. He has published more than 110 papers in international journals, 3 contributions in volumes, more than 150 in international and national conference proceedings and several oral presentations in invited international conferences (H-INDEX: 36).
